TR6 Chronicles - Carburetors

While waiting for the new wooden dashboard and wiring harness to arrive, restoration tasks move from the electrical system to the fuel system.

I do believe I'll get it all back together again, I do, I do
The fuel tank comes out and goes to a radiator shop for cleaning, though it doesn't look too bad. Next the carburetors come out to be cleaned of gunk, and gaskets, O-rings, and other stuff renewed. The carburetors are wondrous little engineering marvels, providing the proper mixture of air and fuel to the engine at various conditions, and all mechanically without the benefit of little computers. That's the neat part. An ordinary mortal can actually learn a bit about how it works, and then to an appreciative audience, lean in over the purring engine with a screwdriver to twist this adjusting screw, open that valve and hear the engine smooth out. That is, if he gets the whole thing back together again in the first place.
