Colorado Journey

Just into Utah, looking back into Nevada

Hilda and I loaded up the dented old Explorer last week and headed out across the Great Basin, landing here in Denver four days later. We are visiting daughter Annie and her family for Thanksgiving. Besides good family time with Dana and Hannah, it turns out that their new home backs up onto a 70-mile bike path that follows the Highline Canal through parks, ranches, and nature preserves. I'm in heaven.

Today Hilda and I watched Dana perform with his fourth grade class choral groupfor Grandparents Day, and later I picked up Hannah from her dance class and was treated during the drive home to a running monologue of her day's activities that included texting in French slang and calculating the number of chocolate chips in a bag of cookies (something less than the 1,000 claimed).

We followed route 50 over here through spectaculardesert. Sebastian, just the weensiest email hint of how to display attached images in this blog would provide a treat of some of that fine scenery, and some of the family fun while we are here.

More tales to come, including that of a "detained" yorkie.
