Notes

The provenance of the Jacob Mindling farm was recorded in a letter written by Louis Mindling on March 23, 1911. This letter was referred to and reproduced in George Mindling's document, "Mindling Family Origins" which he prepared August 28, 1995. This letter is trascribed below from that copy.

March 23, 1911

The farm now owned by Jacob Mindling was sold on July 25-1829 to Hiram Chandler by George Elston for the sum of $300.

Same was sold 3/22-1831 to Henry Chandler consideration $300.00.

On Nov. 11-1835 Jacob Peters bought it for $575.00 and sold it on March 12-1846 to Charles Peters for the sum of $600.00.

On Nov. 14-1859 Charles Peters bought 2-2/3 acres now owned by Martin Miller from David and Henry Denning for the sum of $66.00, and it was added to the 100 acres mentioned above.

On August 24-1877 Chas. Peters sold the 102-2/3 acres to Jacob Mindling, consideration 1200.00.

The 2-2/3 acres mentioned above were sold to Martin Miller on March 12-1908 for $300.00.
